Doris Belle Smith was born on April 5, 1931 to Charles Frederick “Fred” Hatcher and Bertha Belle (Jeffrey) Hatcher in Loveland, Iowa, and departed this life on June 15, 2020 at her home near Tunas, Missouri. At the time of her passing she was 89 years, two months, and 9 days of age.
Doris moved to Missouri at an early age. She attended Crescent Grade School and graduated from Buffalo High School.
She was united in marriage to Tom Smith on February 11, 1950 at the home of Rev. Leonard Miller north of Buffalo.
Doris was saved at an early aged and belonged to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Clyde; and one sister, Alice.
She is survived by her husband Tom. She also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss her.
Graveside services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2020 in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the hospice of donor’s choice.
