Glen “Sonny” L. Gruber, 78, June 10th, 1942, to November 10th, 2020.
Sonny was born in Denver, Colorado. At age 9, he moved to Missouri.
January 5th, 1964, he married Linda Weckner at Hopewell Baptist Church. In the years following, they had 4 children. Moving from Goodson, Missouri, to Wichita, Kansas, then Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Humansville, Missouri, then making Urbana, Missouri, their home.
He held many jobs in those years, making him the self-employed jack-of-all-trades doing construction and home repair that we all knew him for.
He retired in 2001, leaving him time to enjoy gardening and birdwatching, as well as hunting and fishing with his kids and grandkids.
Sonny was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lena McGufason and Glen C. Gruber; his baby sister; brother, Buddy; his son, Timmy Joe; granddaughter, Angel Henry; and 3 great-granddaughters: Ellie, Remi and Adalynn Starr.
He is survived by wife Linda; 3 daughters: Valerie Rowland, Melissa Keith and Lori Mechele Brown, son, Ricky Gruber, and their spouses; sister, Janis Swanigan; 10 grandkids; 10 great-grandkids; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
