Windell Wayne Camper Sr.

Windell Wayne Camper, Sr., son of the late Elbert and Irene (Thurman) Camper, was born on November 5, 1944 in Portageville, MO and departed this life on November 26, 2019 at his home near Buffalo, MO. At the time of his passing he was 75 years old.

Windell was reared in Doniphan, MO and graduated from Naylor High School. After graduation he began working for Foster Grant Chemical Company. He continued working in the manufacturing of plastic for 40 years through various ownership changes and plant moves. Windell retired from Nova Chemical in Chesapeake, VA, where he made many lifelong friends and co-workers.

He was united in marriage to Patricia Combs on October 10, 1964, and to this union three children were born, all of whom survive him. Windell was a hard-working man, providing for his family and putting his children through college. He devoted his time to his family and could be found coaching little league baseball, softball and always in the stands at Deep Creek High School cheering on his children. Windell enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brothers and brothers-in-law and returned to Missouri after retirement to be closer to his extended family. He enjoyed raising cows and goats and spending time outdoors. Windell was well known for always being willing to help anyone he could and will truly be missed by both his friends and family.

Windell was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Patricia; his parents; three brothers, Larry Camper, Dennis Camper, and Alvin Camper; and one sister, Linda Wood.

He is survived by one son, Windell Jr. and Tracey Camper of Pittsburgh, PA; two daughters, Melissa Elaine Camper of Columbia, MO and Patti Michele Camper of Pittsburgh, PA; and three grandchildren, Burke Camper, Jeremy Camper, and Patti Camper. He also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss him.
