The July Dallas County Good Samaritan is Chad Garner.
Garner, school resource officer, keeps Dallas County R-1 School District children safe while they are at school.
“It takes hard work and dedication to plan and carry out the events you have hosted for the active-shooter training. You are our first line of defense when our children are in the hands of the school. Yes, you may get paid to do this particular job; however, you deserve so much more. We trust in you and every other staff member to put the kids first, and I can say without a doubt it shows in your work,” said Sammi McCleary, founder of Dallas County Good Samaritan Project.
The award was developed to honor community members who give back to the community with their kindness. Many local businesses have donated prizes for the gift basket that is given to the Good Samaritan.
To nominate a Good Samaritan, go to the project’s Facebook page and message the group. For those who do not use social media, call Joy Beamer, (417) 345-2224, to place a kind person on the list. The nominations can be individuals, couples or groups.
