Skyline’s volleyball team had won five straight games and was 10-4 on the year, but then they ran into an even hotter Fair Grove team on Sept. 25. The result was a 25-18, 25-11 win for the home Lady Eagles.

Leading the way for Fair Grove, 17-2-2, was Alana Findley with 11 kills and 3 blocks. Shannon Collins added 10 digs while Maranntha Holliman had 17 assists. Emmy Wilson had 15 digs for Skyline while Angelina Curtis had 10 digs. Ella Doughteryt added 1 kill, 5 assists and 7 digs, and Leah King had 1 assist, 1 kill and 23 digs. Abby Grisham pitched in with 3 kills and 3 digs. Alyee Gunter had one ace and 13 digs.

Fair Grove also won three other games last week, beating Conway 25-12, 25-16 as Findley had 13 kills, 3 blocks and 3 aces. Collins had 13 digs and Holliman added 12 assists.

The Lady Eagles beat Central 25-9, 25-17 as Findley had 11 kills and 4 blocks, Collins had 8 digs and Holliman had 14 assists. In still another two-set win, the Lady Eagles pounded Springfield Catholic 25-14, 25-15 behind Findley’s 10 kills and Ryah Icenhower’s 14 assists. Bailee Morgan had 3 aces, Collins 8 digs and Sidney Hill 2 blocks.

Skyline is now 10-6 after losing at home against Osage 18-25, 11-25 on Monday night. Wilson racked up 15 digs and Gunter added 13 digs and one ace. Curtis had 10 digs while King had 23 digs.

Fair Grove was scheduled to play at Bolivar last night (Tuesday) and will host Strafford Thursday. The Lady Eagles will play in the Willard Tournament on Saturday.

Skyline was set to host Stockton last night and will play at Clever on Thursday and at Lakeland on Monday.
