Jacquelyn Jo (Alford) Beck, 69, was born July 22, 1942, in Springfield, the daughter of Bert and Mildred (Stafford) Alford. She died April 2, 2012, at her home in Pleasant Hill.

She was reared in Buffalo and graduated from Buffalo High School.

She was united in marriage with Daryl Beck on June 11, 1960. The Beck family made their home in Buffalo for a short time before moving to Springfield, then to Lees Summit, eventually settling in the Lone Jack area where they lived for 39 years.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Her  most favorite things to do with her children and grandchildren were to read books, sing, play games, roller skate, ice skate and take walks.

A tradition of hers was to make the little grandchildren pajamas each Christmas with a tag that said, “Made with love by Grandma.” She was also a woman of great strength and courage which she attributed to her strong faith in Jesus Christ.

She was a member of the Lone Jack Baptist Church, the Lone Jack Baptist Church Banner Ministry, and Red Hat Society. She was a member of the Buffalo Gals Drum and Bugle Corps in high school.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Mildred Alford; and one sister, Patty Donely.
