Aaron Jerome Gronniger, 15, was born Nov. 13, 2000, in Springfield, the son of William Clement and Shannon Rana (Boyd) Gronniger. He died Feb. 16, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

He was reared in Charity and attended school in Buffalo. He was a farm boy who loved anything with wheels or tracks. He was his dad’s best friend and enjoyed playing UNO with his sister, Haley, who he considered the best sister ever and was her knight in shining armor. He was a very loving, caring, friendly, affectionate and loyal young man of his word. He was a godly young man and loved playing with the little ones.

He was very tender-hearted and loved pleasing people; he could adapt to whatever age of person he was around like a chameleon. He hated school, but worked very hard so that he didn’t have to take any homework home and interfere with his time. He always said he would rather be working on the farm than being at school. He attended Green Mountain Missionary Baptist Church.

Aaron was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bernard and Mary Gronniger.

Survivors include his parents, Willie and Shannon Gronniger, of the home; his sister, Haley Gronniger, of the home; his maternal grandparents: Darrel Boyd, Charity, and Paula Brown, Barnett; grandfather and step-grandmother, Larry and Wendy Brown, Barnett; as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members and friends who will all truly miss him.
