As the fall weather begins to cool things down, it is once again time to think about Christmas and Toys for Tots. Mark your calendars — the dates for the 2026 Dallas County Toys for Tots activities have been set!
Registration for those needing help providing Christmas presents for their children is going on now from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays until November 20 at Grace Community Church, 1652 S. Ash. It is important to register early in order to have a better choice when toys are distributed. This is for Dallas County residents only, children ages birth to 18 years. You must show proof of residency, household income and provide a Social Security card for each child.
The 27th Annual Motorcycle Toy Run is scheduled for the Sunday before Thanksgiving, November 22. Riders will gather at the Woods parking lot around noon. Starting at 1 p.m. they will make their way to the Disabled American Veterans building on North Maple Street to deliver their toys and enjoy chili, drawings and an auction.
Setting up for Toys for Tots distribution will be on Monday, December 14. Distribution Day will be on December 16 at Grace Community Church for parents to select toys for their children. Parents should be sure to be on time for their appointments. They will have 15 minutes to shop. No one will be allowed into the building to wait for their appointment; they will need to wait outside until their appointment time.
It takes many volunteers to make this program work. If you would like to volunteer for any of our activities, please contact Chairman Beth Meyers at (417) 876-7112. We also need homemade cookies for the motorcycle run. If you would like to donate cookies, please contact Jennifer Berry at (417) 345-7785.
