Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, at Cantlon Otterness Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Prater officiating. Burial is in Plad Cemetery under the direction of Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home of Buffalo.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Escorts are Fred Miller, Brian Jones, David Rotramel, David Miller, Nathan Walker and David Phillips. Honorary escorts are Jeff Peters and Les McGaha.

Gilbert E. “Junior” Harrison, 64, was born Jan. 17, 1946, in Lakeside, Mich., the son of Gilbert E. and Pauline E. Harrison. He died Jan. 7, 2011, at Cox South Hospital, Springfield.

He moved to Dallas County at age 3 where he resided until his death. He graduated from Windyville High School in 1963, and then received a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Drury College in 1972.

He loved music and played the harmonica. He also was an avid weather watcher. He attended New Hope Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He was a farmer at heart, but later in life he found his true calling moving houses and other large structures.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Joy; two daughters: Leah and husband, Brian Jones, and Rachel Harrison; and four grandchildren.
