Inflation reached nearly 9 percent at one point during 2022, although it recently dropped to below 7 percent, but it’s been much worse for the agriculture industry in Dallas County and across the nation. The three F’s — fuel, fertilizer and feed — all took major hits during the past year with chemical costs rising 24 percent and fuel increasing 44 percent.
