Loren Thomas Montgomery, 62, was born Oct. 20, 1954, at the Fitzgibbon Memorial Hospital in Marshall, the son of Loren Willard and Mary Frances (Rader) Montgomery. He died March 21, 2017, in Urbana, Because of complications with cancer.

On July 21, 1995, he was united in marriage with Jane Hendrix in Miami, Okla.

He attended Missouri Valley College. He loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends, but one of his greatest joys was watching the excitement of children catching fish and the things they would say. He loved children, whether riding a crying baby around on the golf cart knowing they would fall asleep, teaching an older child how to hunt or encouraging a child that they can reel that fish in.

He also enjoyed working with stained glass, going to auctions and flea markets, and working with wood.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents: John Thomas and Julia (Tremble) Montgomery and Jesse and Mabel Rader; one nephew, Adam D. Montgomery; and many pets.

Survivors include his wife, Jane, of the home; his four children: Angela Harris, Grand Blanc, Mich., Jonathon Montgomery, Waverly, Courtney and Drew Hall, and Fielden and Kendra Montgomery, all of Camdenton; nine grandchildren; four siblings: Connie and Francis Breshears, Urbana, Ricky and Kathy Montgomery, Buffalo, Karla and Donnie Armstrong, Urbana, and David Montgomery, Louisburg; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and Lucky, the cat whom he was fond of.
