Margaret “Jane” Hering, 90, of Osage Beach was born Feb. 1, 1928, in Huntland, Tenn., the daughter of Charles Clinton and Eunice Catherine (Walker) Pogue. She died March 20, 2018, at Osage Beach Health Care Center, Osage Beach.

In 1948 she was united in marriage with Walter Ewell Scott, and in 1975 she was united in marriage with Virgil K. Hering.

She worked various retail positions, including several years at the Navy Exchanges. She attended licensed practical nurse school in 1972, graduated in 1973 and worked as an LPN at Davis County Hospital, Bloomfield, Iowa, for many years.

She loved painting and gardening and kept an “immaculate” household. She loved collecting antiques, including glassware. She enjoyed shopping and always was searching for the “perfect” pair of footwear. She also enjoyed going to garage sales and thrift stores. She also loved cooking and was an excellent baker and cook.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Inez Holder, Kate Couch and Clara Cox; brother, Charles E. Pogue; and daughters: Kathy Scott-Hermann and Connie K. Kinsinger.

Survivors include her loving children: James Craig and wife, Vhicky Scott, Osage Beach, Max R. and wife, Rita Hering, Altoona, Iowa, and Vickie J. Cline, Gainesville, Texas; son-in-law, Dan Kinsinger, Leesville, La.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
