Like many of the plants Janet Wood has transplanted and watched thrive in their new environment, she herself is a transplant to Dallas County and has thrived as one of the community since 1999. Wood is approaching her 20th-year anniversary as a member of the Buffalo Garden Club, where she has held the offices of president and assistant district director. She claims she got one green thumb from her mom who loved flowers, and one green thumb from her dad who loved raising vegetables, especially tomatoes. She says that being in the garden club is an outlet for her artistic ways.
