Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home of Buffalo. Burial in Maple Lawn Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Thelma Doty, 98, was born March 15, 1919, in Nashville, Ohio, the daughter of Curtis and Susan Gilbert. She died Aug. 14, 2017, at her home in Buffalo, surrounded by family.

She was united in marriage with Harold Doty on Jan. 21, 1935. In 1963 the family moved from Louisiana to Buffalo, where she resided until her death.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; two sons: Larry Doty and Kenneth Doty; three sons-in-law: Robert Pankey, Raymond Middleton and Dee Hedgepath; one grandson, David Mark Middleton; one great-grandson, Dylan Hedgepath; two sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include two sons: Lanny Doty and partner, Christie, and Jerry and wife, Diane Doty; four daughters: Barbara Hedgepath, Judy Middleton, Winnie Pankey, and Irene and husband, Jerry Brown; two daughters-in-law: Suzi Doty and Sue Doty; one sister, Helen and husband, Lee Cochran; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends who will all sadly miss her. She was loved very much.
