Bison wrestlers battled tough this weekend in their District Tournament. Case Obernuefemann, Aiden Patrick, and Matthew Skinner made it to the consolation semifinals, better known to the wrestling community as the "blood round" due to the fact it is win or go home. Obernuefemann won his match and qualified for the state tournament, which will start on February 26 in Columbia. "It was heartbreaking to see Matt and Aiden's season come to an end," shares Head Coach Nick Whetzell. Skinner finished his first season of wrestling 33-15, and Patrick finished his senior season 26-22. Whetzell goes on to thank Patrick for his three years in the program, "We wish him nothing but the best as he moves forward from wrestling." more
The Buffalo Bison boys’ basketball team faced a challenging stretch this past week, taking on three talented opponents in Clever, Strafford, and Springfield Catholic. While the Bison came up short on the scoreboard, they showed grit and determination in each contest, continuing to make strides as they progressed through the season. more
The Buffalo Bison fell short in their game against Fair Grove on January 31, 65-54. Coach Kyle Gawlowski says, "We put up a valiant fight in front of a packed home crowd for Courtwarming but fell just short to rival Fair Grove, 65-54. The game remained tightly contested until the final minutes, with our defense playing a key role in keeping it close." Blair Abraham led the defensive effort with nine rebounds and two blocks, while Dalton Bennett pulled down eight rebounds of his own. more
The Fair Grove Eagles held their closest game of the season on Saturday against Lafayette County, coming out victorious with a final score of 14-13. The Eagles have a season record of 13 -0 and Lafayette County 10-2. Eagles Head Coach Bill Voorhis told the Daily Citizen that defense was the decision-maker for this game’s score. With no points put up in the first quarter and 0-7 by halftime, the Eagles needed a comeback to continue in this tournament. There was a tied score by the end of the third quarter. The opponent made a touchdown at the beginning of the fourth quarter, taking the lead, however, with minutes left in the game, the Eagles scored and making an extra point, brought themselves to the win. more

The Buffalo boys golf team has been very busy with their season. The members of the golf team this year are: Blair Abraham (10th), Matthew Skinner (10th), Cody Brown (10th), Braden McGregor (10th), Dalton Bennett (10th), Riley Kjar (11th), and Kaden Bone (11th). more
Buffalo’s Elizabeth Western and Fair Grove’s Kellen Lair, won 100-,meter dashes at Dl Dorado Springs and Nixa meets last week. They are the only two local individual athletes to win first place at those meets, but Fair Grove boys’ 4 x 400-meter relay team also took the fop prize at Nixa. more
Addie Voorhis had perhaps her best outing of the year Monday at Buffalo as the Fair Grove freshman hurler shut out the Lady Bison 5-0. She allowed just three hits while striking out seven batters and walking none, although she hit one batter. more
History was made last week when both the Skyline and Fair Grove girls basketball teams won state championships at Mizzou Arena in Columbia. It was the first time two teams from the Buffalo Reflex’s readership area have won state titles in the same year. more
Buffalo’s boys basketball team rolled past New Covenant 68-42 Tuesday, Jan. 23 in a road, non-conference game. This broke a nine-game losing streak.\The Bison came close to winning another game Friday on courtwarming night as they were ultimately defeated by Clever 47-39. more
Boonville, a Class 4 team, brought a 12-3 record to Skyline Saturday, but the Lady Tigers, ranked number one in the state in Class 2, sent the Lady Pirates home with a stunning 64-41 loss. Earlier on Tuesday, the Lady Tigers pummeled Blair Oaks 81-31. more
Buffalo’s Makayla Altic won first place in the Ozark Highlands Conference girls wrestling tournament on Jan. 18 and Peyton Altic won first in the boys tourney. more
Four Buffalo wrestlers placed third or higher at the Republic Tournament last week, and Makayla Altic continued to lead the way with a first-place finish. She also won her dual match against a Nevada opponent. more

Buffalo’s 1964 and 1965 Class M boys basketball state champions were inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in Springfield Wednesday, Dec. 13. Several team members, cheerleaders and relatives were present for the induction ceremony. more

Buffalo’s girls basketball team most likely will improve somewhat over its 6-20 overall record and 3-5 mark in the Ozark Highlands Conference last year. But the Lady Bison will have to stay healthy as there are only 10 players on the roster. Buffalo had fewer than 10 players two years ago. more
