Sales tax collected for the month of February 2023 in Dallas County totaled $296,472.64. The capital improvement road and bridge and the law enforcement funds each received $77,039.89. The new half-cent sales tax increase for the general account supplied an additional $65,352.97 to the general revenue account, making the total for the general revenue account $142,392.86.

In an effort to enforce the laws as written, Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey recently announced that his office obtained a consent judgment in a case against the business owner of Puppy Love Kennel, Cory Mincey of Dallas County, for violating Missouri’s standards for licensed commercial dog breeders, according to a news release.

During November and December 2022, the Skyline Middle School FBLA members sponsored a Socks for Seniors community service project. Their goal was to collect socks for the Hermitage Nursing and Rehab Center, which had 79 residents.
