Former City Clerk Talia Nelson was honored at the beginning of the Board of Aldermen meeting on Monday, March 25. Mayor Brandon Kenall presented her with a proclamation recognizing her 24 years of service to the city. The mayor thanked everyone for showing up to celebrate Nelson, who has taken a job that allows her to work from home. more
Students from Buffalo High School attended the 2024 Missouri Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) State Leadership Conference, March 17-19, 2024, at Margaritaville Lake Resort and Conference Center in Osage Beach. Almost 1,600 delegates from across the state represented more than 8,600 members of Missouri FCCLA. more

Alex's business ventures come from a deep passion for livestock and agriculture from a young age; she has always been active in the community, helping with fundraising for local breast cancer communities, teaching youth to ride horseback, supporting local businesses, and so much more. She is dedicated to her thriving enterprises, including her Quarter Horse breeding program, equine business, and now real estate. On March 13, 2024, at 11:40 a.m., on US 65 one half mile north of Buffalo, Belva Skinner, 68, Buffalo, was headed southbound in a 2009 Toyota Camry when she swerved to avoid a branch in the road. Skinner skidded across the center of the road and struck a 2014 GMC Acadia driven by Melinda J. Walton, 47, Springfield who had two passengers the ages of 15 and 16, also from Springfield. Skinner faced fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Walton suffered serious injuries and her passengers suffered moderate injuries. All three individuals were taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. The impact totaled both vehicles and they were towed from the scene. Skinner was wearing a safety device, Walton and the two passengers were not. more

After years of pastoral vacancy, Pastor Jeff Sippy has accepted the call of shared ministry between Our Savior Luther Church, Buffalo, and Zion Lutheran Church of Bolivar. Sippy officially started on Sunday, March 10, with an installation service surrounded by members of both churches. Sippy will continue his Sundays leading the worship hour for Our Savior at 9 a.m. and follow by leading the worship hour for Zion Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. more
