The Buffalo Garden Club held their August meeting on Thursday the 22nd. Janet called the meeting to order with the roll call question, 'Do you plant vegetables in the fall, what varieties do you plant?’ There were several answers from beans and carrots to Swiss Chard, onions and spinach. The members attending were; Lisa Blake, Cecilia Dixon, Nancy Heard, Rita Hoogland, Shirley Hyatt, Thelma Tess Kurtz, Tomi McDaniel, Pam Meyer, Jeanie Smith, Liz Van Dee, and Janet Wood.  more

Early in the morning on Saturday, August 31, 2024, Corporal Talon Farrar with the Buffalo Police Department observed two vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on US 65. According to the BPD’s Facebook, One of the vehicles, driven by Chase Medcalf, attempted to pass another vehicle using the turn lane. Cpl. Farrar immediately activated his emergency lights and sirens, but the driver failed to yield. Moments later, the vehicle ran off the roadway and came to a stop. Medcalf showed clear signs of impairment, was given Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST), and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). more
This October, Bennett Spring will be celebrating its 100th anniversary. For many of our community members, Bennett Spring is our little way to escape the stress in our lives. Whether you go there to do some trout fishing, go for a scenic hike, or learn about the nature around us, we all have memories from our local state park. But we never take time to see what goes on behind the scenes and see what happens to take care of our little piece of peace.     more
