The Dallas County Historical Society is proud of their new and latest addition to their collection of historic relics that tell the story of the county’s history and settlers. The Windyville School bell rings loudly from its new belfry home on the Society’s park grounds. In the past, it rang for many a teacher and their pupils throughout the years. Years of history with every child and teacher that remembers their school days. more

The Fair Grove Senior Center will be holding Cinnamon Roll Days November 17 and 18. The rolls may be picked up at the Senior Center, 122 South Orchard Boulevard, Fair Grove. These rolls are made by former Fair Grove School cooks using their recipe and methods and are perfect for your Thanksgiving gatherings. more
The 24th annual Dallas County Toys for Tots Motorcycle Toy Run will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19. Riders will gather at the Woods parking lot in Buffalo about noon. From there, they will travel to the DAV building on North Maple St. to deliver their toys and enjoy chili, soup, and an auction. more

Students at Buffalo Prarie Middle School decorated their Bison Time teachers doors in Fall and Halloweeen themes. A few members of the community were able to come to the school and be the judges of the best door decor. Winners were the Bison Time classes of Mrs. Shuler and Mr. Walls. The winning students were rewarded with ice cream cakes donated by Buffalo Dairy Queen. more

At 1:14 a.m. on November 12, 2023, Christopher J. Ambrose, 37, Buffalo, was headed northbound on Rt. H, four miles east of Buffalo in a 2003 Lexus RX300 when his vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned. The vehicle hit a ditch and Ambrose was ejected from the car. The Lexus came to rest in a ditch. The vehicle was totaled and Ambrose faced fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was not wearing a safety device. more

Tax statements for the 2023 tax year have been mailed. Please take a moment and carefully look over your tax statement. Be sure that all the information on the statement is correct. If you believe there is an error on your tax statement, please contact the Assessor’s Office and have it corrected BEFORE you pay your bill. To avoid long lines and possible penalties, please do not wait until the last day of the year to make corrections. Please include the bottom portion of your statement when paying your taxes. more
One of GROBuffalo's first projects was supporting the Dallas County R-1 School effort, passing a 12.5 million dollar project to build the Dallas County Technical School (DCTC). All businesses, county and city governments, organizations, and schools campaigned for an updated vocational building to offer an alternative education option for the region's students. more
Last week, the students from all the districts enrolled in Dallas County Technical School (DCTC) spread across Buffalo, rolled up their sleeves and helped with clean-up projects. DCTC organized the outreach as a thank you to the community, which supports their students and educational mission and passed the bond to build the new state-of-the-art facility. more

Buffalo Amvets Post 117 took two first place honors at the 2023 Dallas County Veterans Parade on Saturday, Nov. 11. Their red, white and blue patriotic float, complete with a Statue of Liberty, got a first place plaque and Gary Bess, took first grand marshal. The post followed the parade with a full day of celebration at their building at 1005 S. Ash Street in Buffalo. more
